Start with the deliverable
Investigate Pika when a specific transformation app is the job. Evaluate Everygen when its own short-form process or selected model access better matches the deliverable.
Are you comparing the same underlying model, five-second duration, 720p resolution, audio and input settings?
Compare documented workflows
| Dimension | Everygen | Pika |
|---|---|---|
| Public focus | Short-form media workflows and model selection; see the video guide. | Pika lists video, image and audio apps, including Product Ad, Swap Anything, Motion Transfer and extension tools; it also links to MCP. |
| Model access | Check the exact variant and your plan entitlement. | Check the exact variant and your plan entitlement. |

Pika’s free plan lists no commercial license. Do not equate free access, a credit pack or no watermark with permission for a particular commercial job.
Work out the usable-result cost
Pika’s public estimator lists Seedance 2.5 at 720p for five seconds as 122 credits. Its Creator monthly plan lists $35 and 3,150 credits: about $1.36 per attempt. Everygen’s documented five-second 720p Seedance 2.5 example uses 20 credits; allocating its $49/500-credit monthly Pro plan gives $1.96. These are documented quote calculations, not generated or quality-matched tests. Different account offers and settings can change the result.
effective result cost = all generation spending / accepted outputs
For subscription allocations, state whether you assume every included credit is consumed. Count annual upfront commitments, expiring unused credits and top-ups separately. Different providers’ credit counts do not have a shared monetary value.
Use the Everygen retry-aware calculator as one side of the worksheet.
A comparison you can reproduce
Use a single five-second Seedance 2.5 product brief with identical reference media and settings where both pickers permit it. Count rejects and changes required after export.
| Record | What to capture |
|---|---|
| Inputs | The same brief, owned references and target deliverable. |
| Settings | Model label, duration, resolution, audio and any mismatches. |
| All attempts | Quote, actual spending, elapsed time, errors and rejected outputs. |
| Acceptance | A lower per-attempt allocation loses its meaning if the usable-output rate or the actual selected settings differ. |
